You'll encounter another of the world's wonderful natural phenomena,
as over 3,000 Beluga Whales congregate in the Churchill River estuary.
Although Churchill is famous for being "The Polar Bear Capital of the World",
it is also one of the best places in the world to view Beluga Whales at
close range. These intelligent white beauties are referred to as "sea canaries"
for their unique & varied vocalizations. Caribou, Arctic Fox, Red Fox,
Arctic Hare, and Lemmings are other wildlife we often encounter, as well
as Pine Grosbeak, Red-necked Phalarope, Hudsonian Godwit, Willow Ptarmigan,
Parasitic Jaeger, Stilt Sandpiper and numerous other bird species. The tundra is ablaze with wildflowers at this time of year.
